RCB's bowling form has been a great topic of discussion in this season of IPL. Even the skipper- Virat Kohli has taken some questionable decisions in crucial stages of the recent league matches.RCB are a powerhouse of batting with modern greats included in the troop. ABD and Virat being the pillars of the batting lineup generally take them to a respectful score, but the rest of the team has barely contributed. In recent match between RCB and CSK on 21st of this month, after posting a respectable total of 161,RCB bowling lineup had a headstart with Dale's pace and accuracy. CSK were 27-4 in the initial stage of their innings. MS came in to the middle at a stage where CSK was in trouble and only had Rayudu as the last skillful batsman to rely on. some heroics by both of these , got them to a stage where the target seemed getable. Yuzi Chahal's economic bowling kept the match at balance. In the last over the equation was- 26 runs and Thala at the striking end. Umesh Yadav kept bowling short and half volley length and MS smashed all of them to boundaries-3 sixes and a four(including the 111m gigantic). At the end ,result ended up on the red's side but all we can ask Umesh is- Aren't 26 runs enough for him to make it a easy gothrough for RCB ?
Although umesh yadav had taken wkts in that match but as per my thinking 26 is a a very good amount of runs to defend in last over. And he is an experienced player. U can't expect that he will ball at short length, and give full toss. I think it was very poor performance by him. It was luck who wins the rcb not umesh last delievery .
ReplyDeleteAnd i must say it was very poor captaincy by virat. As a captain he should come and talk with bowler like what other captain does.
